From Tokyo - Menstrual blood cells may be another source of cells that can be used to generate new tissue similar to stem cells. According to research in the journal Stem Cells, scientists harvested mesenchymal cells from the menstrual blood samples of 9 volunteers. The cells were cultured together with rat heart muscle cells, and resulted in the creation of cells that were similar to the precursors of heart muscle cells

Jimmy Wayne Grider left us to be with His Lord on March 9, 2011 after a long battle with leukemia and complications from a stem cell transplant. He was born on June 20, 1942 in Stevenson, AL and passed away peacefully, with his family beside him, at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL. At the time of his retirement, "Jim" was a Captain for United Airlines.
