Follow this true story of a former NCI employee, Serena Marshall, as she takes you through her blood stem cell donation experience at the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center in Bethesda, MD. Bone marrow transplantation (BMT) and peripheral blood stem cell transplantation (PBSCT) are most commonly used in the treatment of cancers like leukemia and lymphoma to restore stem cells that have been destroyed by high doses of chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy.
